Black History Month Call for Writing Submissions
Theme: Places We Belong
Prompts to inspire your thinking:
Who is a person from the past who broke barriers? Describe a person or group who fought for change.
Who is a person in your life who inspires you?
What does community mean to you? How has your community helped you find your place?
What future do you envision for the Black community?
Genre: Students are invited to submit poetry, short stories, or mini-essays.
Word count: 300 words or less.
Due Date: Friday, January 24
Selected pieces and writers will be invited to attend the “Places We Belong” reading in February 2025 hosted in partnership with Gordon Feinblatt Attorneys at Law.
